The technology

The next generation of formulation: rT64 NanoEmitters.

A novel formulation paradigm that holds the active intact on the shelf, then releases it only where you want it.

01

Stable on the shelf

The active sits inside a protective scaffold, no leakage, aggregation or degradation at room temperature.

02

Triggered at the target

The local environment tells the NanoEmitters to package the cargo into daughter nanoparticles.

03

Streamed to depth

Those nanoparticles travel down as a concentrated stream and land at the depth the formulation was tuned for.

rT64 NanoEmitter: a stable carrier descends to a tuned depth range and emits vessels already filled with payload, inside a designed zone

Stays at the surface. Streams cargo filled vessels to the tuned depth.

Why this is hard

Three walls stop next generation molecules before they can take effect.

Novel active molecules like proteins, peptides and RNA offer breakthrough potency and precision. Yet they face the same three problems between the vial and the target.

Stability

It degrades before it arrives

Conventional formulations start to compromise their cargo during transport and storage, from temperature, oxidation, hydrolysis and other factors.

Penetration

It cannot penetrate the target tissue

The molecule’s size, charge, conformation or other properties diminish its tissue uptake.

Off-target exposure

It cannot be kept local

Treating one site usually comes with leakage out to off target tissues, and tolerability caps the dose before the biology does.

What is it

Our novel suite of formulation constructs.

The NanoEmitter is a core formulation mechanism with more than 60 customizable chemistries, compatible with a wide variety of cargo molecules. Partners bring us their novel actives. We hold them intact through storage without a cold chain, and release them in the tissue they were designed for. Here is where the active actually sits.

Labelled cross-section of an rT64 NanoEmitter: an outer membrane shields the contents from oxidation and hydrolysis, a microparticle scaffold holds the active in place, and the active itself sits held within the scaffold until the target environment triggers release.
Animated comparison. Both vials start in cold storage with the active held inside its carrier. As the temperature rises to room temperature the conventional carriers rupture and the active spills out and is lost, while the active inside the rT64 NanoEmitter stays held through four months.
